Cotswold Way 100 Mile Trail Running Ultra Marathon Challenge

£199 pp solo (£189 pp pairs)

DAY ONE – Friday (Chipping Campden to Cranham)

Meet us in Chipping Campden for a 7.30am registration and an 8am start.

Today’s run is approximately 47 miles. You will run from the beautiful town of Chipping Campden through agricultural land and open hills to Broadway Tower (2nd highest point along the trail) and then Broadway town. You will then run through the lovely villages of Stanton and Stanway on route to Hailes and its wonderful church and the ruins of Hailes Abbey.  The trail continues southward, to Cleeve common and Cleeve Hill.  You will enjoy amazing views over Cheltenham and its racecourse as the trail skirts around the town up to Leckhampton Hill. After enjoying the views from open paths you will enter a woodland section, with occasional open hillsides such as Coopers Hill, the home of the annual Gloucester Cheese Rolling event. You will soon find yourself at our runner’s village at Cranham where you can relax for the evening.  YOU MUST BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THESE 47 MILES WITHIN A 12 HOUR PERIOD.

DAY TWO – Saturday (Cranham to Bath)

Today’s run is approximately 60 miles. After leaving our runners village at 7am you will continue southwards, passing through the towns of Painswick and Ebley and the halfway point of the trail. You can enjoy the views of the River Severn estuary from Haresfield Beacon and Coaley Peak.  Once you have cleared the market town of Wotton-Under-Edge you will immediately be in open fields and passing through tiny Cotswold Stone villages with attractive churches. You pass through Alderley, Lower Kilcott, Hawkesbury, Horton, Little Sodbury, Old Sodbury, Tormarton, all of which could grace any postcard. The countryside is flat now, with open agricultural fields before we start the long descent into Bath. One final surprise as the route passes the location of the Battle of Lansdown in 1643. After the long downhill stretch you will reach Bath, where the run will terminate. After you have collected your medal and picked up your luggage, you are free to leave and go home, or why not stay the night in Bath and enjoy our good-bye party in a local Bath pub!  YOU MUST BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THESE 60 MILES WITHIN A 15 HOUR PERIOD

DAY ONE – Friday (Chipping Campden to Hailes)

On the first day you can meet us and start the event in Bath or Chipping Campden.

Meeting us in Bath

You can join the tour in Bath and catch one of our coach transfers from central Bath to Chipping Campden at 7.45, 8.15 or 8.45am. The coach transfer should take around two hours, meaning you will be at Chipping Campden for registration around 11am. Once you arrive at Chipping Campden you will be able to drop your luggage at the luggage drop, register and start your run.

You can make your own way to Chipping Campden if you prefer? You can drop your luggage and register from 10.00am until 12 noon and you can then start your run.

Today’s run is approximately 17 miles. You will run from the beautiful town of Chipping Campden through agricultural land and open hills to Broadway Tower (2nd highest point along the trail) and then Broadway town. You will then run through the lovely villages of Stanton and Stanway on route to Hailes and its wonderful church and the ruins of Hailes Abbey. Tonight kick back and relax at our runner’s village.

 

DAY TWO – Saturday (Hailes to Cranham)

Today’s run is approximately 30 miles. After breakfast you rejoin the trail and enjoy Cleeve common and Cleeve Hill. You will enjoy amazing views over Cheltenham and its racecourse as the trail skirts around the town up to Leckhampton Hill. After enjoying the views from open paths you will now enter a woodland section, with occasional open hillsides such as Coopers Hill, the home of the annual Gloucester Cheese Rolling event. You will soon find yourself at our runner’s village at Cranham for where you can relax for another evening.

 

DAY THREE – Sunday (Cranham to Wotten-Under-Edge)

Today’s run is approximately 26 miles. After leaving our runners village you will continue southwards, passing through the towns of Painswick and Ebley and the halfway point of the trail. You can enjoy the views of the River Severn estuary from Haresfield Beacon and Coaley Peak. In the distance you will notice a man made tower which is called the Tyndale Monument, that’s just before  the location of tonight’s runner’s village. After you run through the town of Dursley you will reach Wotten-Under-Edge and our campsite where you can relax and enjoy our entertainment.

 

DAY FOUR – Monday (Wotten-Under-Edge to Bath)

Today’s run is approximately 34 miles. After you leave the runners village and pass through the town of Wotton-Under-Edge, you will immediately be in open fields and passing through tiny Cotswold Stone villages with attractive churches.
